Team Bill's Brigaders

Welcome to our team page!

We are participating in ALS San Diego's ALS Walk to raise funds to support people in our local community with ALS and to spread awareness about this disease.

Please consider joining our team, Team Bill's Brigaders, in the ALS Walk and or donate to our cause.  This will be a way to remember Bill and those who helped him/us so much in his care with ALS.  Participants will receive a free T-shirt!

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause of the disease and can cost up to $250,000 a year to provide the care that people living with ALS and their families need.

Bill's journey with ALS lasted 5.5 months from diagnosis.  The help, support and resources provided by ALS San Diego was monumental in helping us navigate this devastating time in our lives.  Participation in the ALS Walk will help provide the care and support to others who find themselves dealing with this relentless disease.

Being a part of ALS San Diego's ALS Walk is the number one way to unite and fundraise for those living with ALS. Please consider donating to our team to help fund resources and services to the local San Diego ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without this disease.

Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating!

Thank you!
