Welcome to our team page!
We are participating in ALS San Diego's ALS Walk to raise funds to support people in our local community with ALS and to spread awareness about this disease. Please consider joining our team in the ALS Walk on September 20th at Liberty Station in San Diego.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause of the disease and can cost up to $250,000 a year to provide the care that people living with ALS and their families need.
Being a part of ALS San Diego's ALS Walk is the number one way to unite and fundraise for those living with ALS. Please consider donating to our team to help fund resources and services to the local San Diego ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without this disease.
Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating!
Our team is Bobsquad. Robert grew up in Lemon Grove, CA. He served in the Air Force as a Firefighter then as a Firefighter for the Department of Defense until he retired in 2014. Bob loved to hike, fish, travel and read. With ALS now he listens to audio books. He has two sons (Chris and Justin) and five grandchildren. Bob's first wife Donna passed away in 2014. In 2018 his path crossed with Kathryn. They married in 2019 and added to the family her children (Matthew and Bridgette). Bob and Kathy still try to travel to make as many memories as they can. They recently visited Yosemite. He enjoys relaxing in his recliner and watching his favorite shows - Bering Sea Gold, Gordon Ramsey and Naked and Afraid! There are daily struggles, but he keeps his spirits up high and lives each day one day at a time. Thank you for helping raise funds for people who are living with ALS.
Thank you!
