Team Rich

Welcome to our team page!

In honor of my brother Rich Torres I am participating in the 2025 ALS San Diego Walk. Since 2022 I have been fundraising to help raise money for ALS research and support for people and families that have this horrible disease. Rich passed away at the age of 56 in October of 2022, a year after being diagnosed. Since then there has been progress in research, medical treatment, and new technologies to assist people and families affected by ALS. This is made possible by generous donations from, friends and family like you. If you are in San Diego, come join me on September 20th.Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm participating in ALS San Diego's ALS Walk to raise funds that will support San Diego individuals and families affected by ALS.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure.

Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local San Diego ALS community, help find new treatments, and move us closer to a world without this disease.

Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating!

Thank you for your support!,

Ylianna Torres
