We Got Now - In Memory of John Strong
Welcome to our families team page,
On September 20 our family will be walking in memory of John Strong, a father, a husband and a friend. John lost his life to ALS on 8/21/21 after a 19 month battle. We walk to remember those we have lost and to support those living with ALS and their families.
Please consider joining our team in the ALS Walk, and come out and support this very tight community. I can promise you a morning filled with love, tears and laughter together.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive, always fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause of the disease and can cost up to $250,000 a year to provide the care that people living with ALS and their families need.
Being a part of ALS San Diego's ALS Walk is the number one way to unite and fundraise for those living with ALS. Please consider donating to our team to help fund resources and services to the local San Diego ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without this disease.
Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating!
Thank you!
