Welcome to Team Elefantes – Walking for Joey

We’re proud to walk in support of our beloved Joey. A father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, teacher, friend, and artist who is currently fighting ALS with strength, grace, and unwavering spirit. Joey is the kind of person who makes everyone feel seen and supported. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.

Our team is participating in the ALS San Diego Walk to raise critical funds and awareness for those living with ALS in our community. This walk is our way of honoring Joey, standing by his side, and helping provide essential resources for families affected by this devastating disease.

ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive and fatal neuromuscular condition that slowly takes away a person’s ability to move, speak, eat, and breathe. Most people with ALS live only 2 to 5 years after diagnosis. Care can cost families up to $250,000 a year and still, there is no cure.

By joining Team Elefantes or donating to one of our team members, you’re helping fund vital services for local ALS families, supporting research for new treatments, and bringing us closer to a world without ALS.

Please consider walking with us, donating, or sharing this page with others who may want to support the cause.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Joey and our family.
