Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page.

This year, I’m taking part in the San Diego Walk to Defeat ALS in honor of my dear friend Lisa.  Just after her 50th birthday last year, Lisa was diagnosed with ALS — a devastating disease that has since turned her world upside down.

I met Lisa in 2016, not long after I moved to San Diego. We were introduced by our mutual friend Karen, and we quickly clicked.  We discovered we shared a lot in common, and over the years, our friendship has grown for which I appreciate.  Watching someone you care about face such a cruel and unforgiving illness is heartbreaking. Fundraising and organizing a team for this walk is one small way I can show up for Lisa — and for others who are battling ALS.

If you’re able, I hope you’ll consider supporting the cause by making a donation.  Every contribution — no matter the size — helps provide vital care and support to people with ALS in our local San Diego community and also supports research to find better treatments and, someday, a cure.

ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a progressive, fatal disease that gradually robs people of their ability to walk, talk, swallow, and breathe. On average, people with ALS live just 2 to 5 years after diagnosis.  It can affect anyone, at any time, with no known cause or cure — yet.
